After stepping into my friend Roni's space, I may have to reconsider my mid-century modern home decor habits. Her business, The Loaded Trunk, sells housewares, textiles, and rugs from all over the world. She, personally, curates the collection. Like, she meets with the makers in Morocco, Istanbul, Syria, you get the idea. She works with them to bring their goods to the U.S. market. She has a real focus on fair prices and limited quantities so that these makers are being compensated for their amazing work. Anyway, one of everything for me, please.

For some, a sweet, bare bummed portrait of their baby just isn't enough. Alas, this one-of-a-kind portrait is for you! The collages are made by artist Nicholas Knudson of Los Angeles. Created through a collaboration with me and the outtakes of a portrait session, Nick doesn't have an agenda when he first sits down to work. Each image is inspired by a glint in his subject's eye. A friend of mine recently hung the collage above over her mantle. She is curious to see how long it will take friends and family to notice what is going on in the picture, that her son is about to fly a fighter jet from WWII.
